We are community development organization, non political and non religious that provides support to orphaned children and those living in difficult circumstances, helping them to grow into independent and self-supporting adults.
For over 20 years now, The Mango Tree has been working to enable children and young people from remote parts of Kyela Tanzania. The Mango Tree Kyela – Tanzania gave birth to other Mango Tree offices in different countries. Our theory has always been to provide access to education and training promoting sustainable livelihoods in communities, helping protect our environment and end poverty in Tanzania.
The Mango tree is a Non Profit Organization.
The primary objectives of TMT are to relieve poverty, sickness, distress, and advance education amongst children resident in Kyela and the surrounding districts, who have lost one or both parents through HIV, AIDS or related conditions or whose parents are suffering due to HIV infection, AIDS or related conditions. TMT also supports children living in difficult circumstances whose parents may or may not be affected by HIV/AIDS, or related conditions. Kyela District, bordering northern Malawi, is one of the most severely affected districts in Tanzania by AIDS pandemic.TMT supports and empowers community in the establishment of income generating activities. To provide educational opportunities to children and young adults in Kyela and other neigbhouring districts. TMT supports orphans, vulnerable children and their communities in Kyela through effective and sustainable programmes that nurture and improve lives, promote self reliance and create independence.
We believe in integrated programs to achieve our objectives: educational programs, Health programs, Infrastructure programs, Social & Community Economic Development programs. For a child to be able to get opportunities to education he/she needs to be healthy: have access to get to school so infrastructure should be improved: a household to generate income to be self-sufficient and create better environment for young generation
